Coming by train
the Haut-Garonne Pyrenees

Travelling by train means choosing a gentle and responsible form of mobility, while enjoying the luxury of contemplating the landscape as it passes by. On the Montréjeau-Luchon line, every journey becomes an adventure where time passes in a different way. This route, a veritable artery linking the plains to the mountains, promises total immersion in the wild beauty of the Pyrenees.

A picturesque route
between Toulouse and Luchon

Travelling by train to the Haut-Garonne Pyrenees is a unique journey through enchanting landscapes and picturesque villages. From Toulouse, the train takes you to Montréjeau, where the emblematic line to Luchon begins. Currently undergoing major renovation work, this suspended line will come back to life in 2025 with a major innovation: hybrid trains running on hydrogen and diesel, a first in France.

Stops in the heart of the valleys

The route reveals the treasures of the region at every stop. Loures-Barousse station, nestled in a green valley, is the ideal starting point for exploring the surrounding villages. Further on, Saléchan-Siradan invites you to discover a rich local heritage, with castles, churches and agricultural landscapes. Arriving at Marignac-Saint-Béat, the mountains come closer, with snow-capped peaks providing a majestic backdrop.

Terminus in the heart of Luchon

Finally, Luchon station, the terminus of this legendary line, welcomes you to the heart of a renowned spa town. In 2025, it will become a modern multimodal interchange, further strengthening its central role. Luchon, famous for its healing waters, is also the ideal departure point for the ski resorts of Superbagnères and Peyragudes, thanks in particular to the return of the Skirail service.

A project for the future

With six daily return trips and a journey time reduced to 35 minutes between Montréjeau and Luchon, this modernised line is fully in line with a soft mobility and energy transition approach. It will also facilitate connections with Toulouse, effectively linking the area to major national and international lines.
