We began our journey in the valley of the Garonne, a central river that winds its way through magnificent scenery. This region is a veritable jewel case of unspoilt nature, with sparkling lakes, dense forests and majestic peaks flirting with 3,000 metres.
We then hired mountain bikes so that we could take advantage of the secret paths and get a good dose of adrenalin! And guess what? It was my husband who had trouble keeping up! There’s no shortage of outdoor activities here. Whether you’re into hiking, mountain biking or fishing, every trip is a new opportunity to commune with nature. Whether in winter or summer, you’re sure not to get bored and you’ll make some wonderful memories as a couple.

Thecharm of the Pyrenees also lies in its authentic villages, nestling between the foothills and the valley of Saint-Béat-Lez. From Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges to Valcabrère, each village tells its own unique story through its picturesque streets and monuments. We were won over by the warm atmosphere of the Frontignes, where the welcome from the locals is as comforting as a roaring fire on a starry night.

Continuing our journey, we discovered Bear Country, a land where man and nature live in harmony. Further on, towards the Val d’Aran, Luchon, nicknamed the Queen of the Pyrenees, offered us a grandiose spectacle with the Lys valley and the Enfer waterfall. Each village we passed was a promise of authenticity and simplicity, a welcome return to our roots.
