Description

In this solo combining dance and spoken word, Maryem Dogui examines her African roots – Ivorian and Judeo-Algerian – and her cultural heritage as the child of immigrants, which has been hindered by centuries of French colonisation and assimilation. This play takes us on an investigation that is both intimate and collective, in search of fragments of the cultures of these families, a past to be filled in, relegitimised and made its own. An intimate testimony as a transgenerational and multicultural reconciliation.
